I ran across the photography of Frank Uyttenhove today. I don't know much about Uyttenhove, but his photographs have a beautiful sense of absurdity and are carefully conceptually crafted, orchestrated and I'm sure manipulated with digital imaging tools. He has a number of his photographs available in the galleries on his website linked above.
