Beautifully redesigned inside and out, the all-new Audi A5 is a pleasing blend of sophistication and muscle. The turbocharged 2.0 liter, 252 horsepower inline four cylinder engine is bolstered by Quattro all-wheel drive, which gives the A5 impressive stability and handling despite the reduction in weight from the previous year.
Available as a coupe, convertible (cabriolet) or a versatile 4-door hatchback (the Sportback), the A5’s cabin is thoughtfully configured, with firm, comfortable seats, which provide excellent support from shoulder to knee.* Audi offers its virtual cockpit – a 12.3-inch digital information cluster – which is visible through the three-spoke, leather-wrapped steering wheel. The available head-up display helps to minimize the time your eyes leave the road. The smartphone interface provides access to your smartphone’s compatible functions and can be accessed by the controls on the steering wheel, the multimedia interface (MMI) or by voice commands. Available navigation system with MMI allows you access to Google Earth, flight information and local traffic and weather. For the cherry on top, a WiFi hotspot for up to eight passenger devices will keep everyone entertained.
The sleek lines of the A5’s exterior silhouette offer a hint of the power that lurks beneath. The Quattro all-wheel drive comes alive when accelerating from a stoplight, navigating winding mountain roads or even wet pavement.** But don’t expect road trips to be tiresome. Thanks to the civilized and forgiving standard suspension and available adaptive suspension in the S Sport package, the bumps in the road are barely noticed. An extremely quiet cabin insulates from road noise, weather, and traffic, allowing easy conversation and musical enjoyment.
Safety takes on a new meaning with Audi Pre Sense® Basic, which comes standard. It can sense dramatic changes in the motion of the car, such as hard braking or swerving, and actively assists to avoid an object. It then preps the braking system, tightens the seat belts, and closes the sunroof and side windows in a fraction of a second. The also standard Audi Pre Sense® City alerts the driver to potential stationary hazards and even applies the brakes automatically. Available Pre Sense® Rear alerts the driver to vehicles in the blind spots, as well as vehicles or cyclists approaching the rear. For the cabriolet, active rollover protection deploys two spring-loaded plates to protect the occupants in the event of a rollover.
The A5 has a practical side, too. The liftgate reveals a spacious 21.8 cubic foot trunk, offering plenty of room for luggage. The A5 Sportback boasts a full 35 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seatbacks folded. Rear passengers are often an afterthought with most coupes. The A5 coupe offers plenty of head- and leg room, with wide seats designed for comfort. The rear glass covers a lot of area, so rear passengers don’t feel closed in. A panoramic sunroof allows for open-air enjoyment for all occupants.
The pure power of the A5 is beautifully wrapped in a distinctive exterior that will turn heads. The crisp handling, intuitive cockpit interface, and comfortable ride are seamlessly blended with the assertive handling that is expected from Audi.
