I moved into my new apartment today. Like anywhere on the hill, it has character. The doors work funny, there's no microwave and the kitchen has a sort of adorable kitsch that I'm either going to love or deplore in a couple weeks.
The old tenant left this in the living room. It's a ribcage pelvis made of scrap metal. My landlord looked on somewhat amused.
She asked if I'd like her to throw it out. I pondered doing so, but realized that maybe this is a symbol of how we're all here fleetingly. Or maybe having a ribcage, pelvis and vertebra is just really awesome.
