在Ditto主窗口中，选中任一条目（比如我的RSS地址），点击鼠标右键，在快捷菜单中选择“属性”；在弹出的对话框中，设定此条目为“Never Auto Delete”（因为需要重复使用），并指定Quick Paste Text 为“RSS”（即设定缩写）。日后在任一程序中（比如记事本），按下在选项中设定的热键，就会弹出一个提示窗口，在其中输入“RSS”，就会自动将其扩展输入为完整内容。这时，Ditto几乎替代了专门的缩写扩展（Text Substitution），它更加强大的是--还可以将存储的多行文本、带格式的文本、图片和文件做为文字扩展粘贴过来。
