Conceived in 1928 and finished in 1931, the span is the longest bridge in Rochester at 981 feet. Large Size This photo is Public Uploaded on Jan. 9, 2008	These look harmless enough but the stair steps are actually three to four feet in height. I don't think the City intended to create an easy rout for vandals and homeless to get down the gorge. I could not get back far enough to read or even perceive the graffiti from here. 3 feet away was a fence and then a 100 foot drop to the river gorge.
