Hosteria Las Torres
Patagonia is not al backpacking. If you cannot immagine yourself sleeping in a tent, or even a bunk bed in one of the Refugios, you could always stay here at the base of Valle Ascencio with all of the other tourists, and be within reach of a day hike of the Torres. Just don't expect to get there for sunrise.
As things go, the people we saw comming from this place on the trail tended to haveexpensive and overbought clothing. More so than the backpackers. I saw people in $300 climbing pants that have probably never been off of the trail, let alone seen a climbing harness.

Campamento Italiano
At 22:44 we finally stroll into Campamento Italiano (in the trees to the right). Before entering camp I cross a small wooden foot bridge and find this beautiful view.

Lago Skottsberg
Campamento Italiano now almost in sight, at 21:07 we still had over an hour to get to camp. Just enough daylight remained.
Despite being exhausted, I didn't really care so much because the views and the light were so phenomenal. Around this lake I found myself constantly stopping, taking off my backpack, setting up the tripod...

Patagonia
A very large ice berg from Glacier Grey being blown across Lago Grey as photographed from in front of Refugio Grey.
This glacier was moving very quickly. Within 30 minutes out was out of view. A factor of the very strong winds. As I stated previously, taking pictures in this part of Patagonia is quite a challenge with these winds.
