It's interesting. From looking at this picture you'd imagine you are in a cemetery somewhere. In fact previous in my stream I've got a shot of Lafayette Cemetery in the Garden District of New Orleans.
But this photo is not from the Lafayette Cemetery. The Lafayette Cemetery has largely had most of the statues from there pilferred. There are only about five left in the whole cemetery. Most of the pilfering has been done over the past 10 years as thieves took the statues, urns, etc. to sell to antique dealers who re-sell them to wealthy individuals who collect them as art at a handsome profit. It's weird how stripped out the cemetery feels without them.
But, no, this statue is not in Lafayette Cemetery. This statue is instead down the street from the cemetery in Nicholas Cage's front yard.
Cage's house is interesting. All of the windows have been glazed over black. You can't see inside at all. And all of the numbers of the house address have been removed from the residence. It is quite the grand home though. But what else would you expect?
