I know we're in need of new housing here in England, but it's sad to see a beautiful field full of golden wheat, not waiting for harvest, but waiting to built over.
The fences can be seen in the background, and the access road is being built.
Once upon a time, Bronze Age barrows sat quietly upon the land. From a place for the remembrance of the ancient dead, to a place for the living.
That's progress, I suppose...
