some modernist flourish at the central post office in edmonton.
"modernist flourish" may seem an oxymoron to some, but not to me.

EVANGELICAL MISSIONARY CHURCH |
grump II |
simpsons styled striatic |
edmonton alberta has a lot of churches, many in a simple, modernist style.
i've always liked how the landscaping on this church works with the building. how they've never sought to gussy it up with a less austere arrangement.

vegreville egg |
subtly warped reflection |
CN tower ~ edmonton |
The world's largest pysanka (Ukrainian Easter egg) was created to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in 1974 and to celebrate Vegreville's ethnic heritage.

after taking the beaver house photos, i decided to snap another reflection in another building. the mirror was a bit oddly warped.

i ♥ vancouver magazine |
profile in dust |
vancouver magazine contacted me a while back, asking to use this photo for a story about the storm devastation in stanley park.
vancouver magazine staff? the best. even though my photo was CC, they insisted on paying me for their use of my photo anyway.
so i can't say enough how much i appreciate this publication. there are a lot of horror stories coming out of misuse of copyright photos on flickr, and this magazine went out of their way to support me, and i'm guessing in the future the flickr community at large.
colour me impressed.
