In November 2003 I was lucky enough to be at Filton airfield in Bristol when Concorde 216 (G-BOAF) returned home, to the place where it and all other British Concordes were built in the late 60s and 70s. That was her last flight, in fact it was the last flight of any Concorde and during that flight they flew out over the Bay of Biscay at Mach 2.
Concorde 216 now stands in a custom built compound on the edge of the runway, sadly exposed to the elements while money is raised to build a purpose built museum at the Filton site to house Concorde and many other exhibits. Guided tours are run for most of the week and are certainly worth the £12.50 per person. The tour lasts for about 2 hours and unlike most other Concorde tours you are given the opportunity to board the aircraft and sit in the first 3 rows of seats as well as take a look at the cockpit.
