I love this sign. There's a modern, standardised, equivalent at the other end of this path (tall person of unidentified sex next to a young person, also of unidentified sex). But I often chuckle at how ludicrous this image is today.

This big guy looms over Helsinki at the top of an impressive set of steps. This is actually the side of the building, not the front.

I got the idea that these lanterns were engaged in some kind of face-off. The rain started tumbling down after I arrived at the cathedral, so I waited under cover for a while, and took this. The rain wasn't so bad; it gave me some shimmery streets to play with.

... folks sit here in nice weather and drink away an evening. On this night, the rain came down and they abandoned their empties. FYI, Koff (the red cans) is a Finnish lager, and not a very good one at that. Drinkable, though. Koff own and operate the city's bright red Pub Tram, which is such an excellent little gimmick.
