In the first minute George was born he cried and the consultant couldn't settle him so asked me to give him my little finger to suck on, which I did and he calmed down straight away. Since that point daddy's magic finger works everytime even when other things don't, which is great during the day but not so good in the early hours of the morning! And just so I don't try and remove the magic finger too soon George has worked out how to grab it and hold on tightly until he's finished with it.... lucky me!
