For my tastes, the background is a bit distracting, but it's hard to fault keeping it since it gives the foreground context. Maybe a tiny bit shallower DOF? Oh well..

I left a comment last night, but it's gone AWOL. Anyway, I think this is a good example. Just one shape at 2 scales, color, and no distracting detail.
