The Mormon Battalion Monument on the Utah State Capitol grounds commemorates the service of 500 Latter-day Saints who marched from Fort Leavenworth, Kan., to San Diego during the war with Mexico and helped put down the Bear Flag revolt.

The Utah State Capitol recently underwent a renovation, including a seismic upgrade and an overhaul of the interior to restore it to its original splendor. This is one of the capitals on the pillars in the House of Representatives.

Barnegat Lighthouse was decommissioned in 1944, but today you can go to the top and get a great view of the Atlantic Ocean and Barnegat Bay.
