The figures of Wilford Woodruff, Brigham Young and Heber C. Kimball have looked out from the top of the This Is The Place Monument in Salt Lake City since 1947. The monument commemorates the arrival of the Mormon Pioneers, as well as the exploration by the Spanish Fathers Escalante and Dominguez as well as trappers and mountain men.
