Doris posted that she did a full combo on "What I've Done" on expert for GHWT. I think I missed 3 notes all together, but technically I beat her score :-P

Arroz Caldo/Lugao/Congee |
Station Sushi Happy Hour |
Swing Kings @ The Belly Up |
For brunch today, I decided to make something different -- a Pilipino arroz caldo made with rice and turkey, seasoned with garlic, onions, ginger, salt, and pepper. Growing up, this was one of my favorite dishes. The first time I had congee at a Chinese restaurant, I recognized a similarity. Anyway, I also added a hard-boiled egg and garnished with some chopped asparagus, um, because it's green. Normally, it's garnished with green onions (but I didn't have any), ha!

Wood Roses |
Calamari rings and curly fries (12/05/2009) |
This Sunday I was lazy and just made Belgian waffles. I made these with yogurt rather than milk. I also added cranberries to the batter, but you can't see them here. Topped with maple syrup and strawberry slices.

During December Nights in Balboa Park, one of the vendors was selling wood roses for 25cents each (when you bought 40)

Had these during December Nights in Balboa Park. So good and yet so bad for you at the same time.

One of our pies was the Roma: Canadian style bacon, pepperoni, sausage, salami, onions, olives, bell peppers & mushrooms. Pizza Port's special combo!

Strawberry Crepe in Chocolate with Ice Cream |
This Sunday I made a crepe with Thanksgiving leftovers. It's stuffed with turkey, Swiss cheese, eggplant, zucchini, and mushrooms. I had just enough batter to make a dessert crepe which I lightly brushed with orange juice (for a sweeter flavor) and dusted with powdered sugar.

My Thanksgiving spread. Since 13 is an "unlucky" number, I'd better toast some rolls.
