四国って直流なんですね。今調べて初めて知りました。

似たような姿の電車はまだいろんなところで走っている筈ですが、
この形式が「111系」というところがミソなんです。
とても鉄分が濃い話なので、なるべく簡単にお話ししますと、
111系は試作的な要素が強く、昭和37年(1962)に新製して
一年も経たないうちに、出力を強化した113系、山岳地帯用の115系に
バトンタッチしてしまったんです。
それがかろうじて四国で生き残っていると云うことで、
まさか会えないだろうと思っていたら、高松でいとも簡単に
遭遇することが出来、えらく感動した次第です。
