Just Beyond Nowhere
See it detailed, large, on black
Built in 1912, the "Bridge to Nowhere" in Bankhead, Atlanta now serves as a homeless encampment instead of a major thoroughfare into the city over railroad tracks. It can still be reached by foot from one side, though it's sealed off to traffic, structurally unsound, and ends with a sudden drop. Amid the tents, cardboard boxes, rags, refuse and general squalor lining structure and serving as peoples' homes is a perfectly framed view of Bank of America Plaza, offices of the largest bank in the United States.
