Ooooooh...I am in LOVE...4GB's of RAM arrive tomorrow...only got the 320GB HD...might have to look at swapping the drive at some point....it is YUMMY! And no wise cracks about the crooked frame....that will be fixed once I change out the picture for something more recent.

With my wife and son gone as of 6AM this morning I decided that I will have a variety of projects when they are gone. One of those projects is to start aligning our walls with my photography. Today at lunch I ran over to the frame store and purchased a couple of 5 x 7 frames...black with a black matte...really makes colorful images pop...I am going to redo the images in my sons room and I am going to hang a bunch in the hallway...might even do a Life Poster framed with 98 images from my Project 365 Jack. Sure would be easy to do if I get my new iMac this weekend :)

Eleven days...he and his mom left earlier this morning for eleven days to go visit her family in NY. I am so excited for my in-laws...I wish I could go, but work is keeping me in L.A. I am freaking out thinking about being apart for so long...and on the same token I realize how lucky I am when there are those who fight for this country who have never heard their own child cry...never touched their own child... I am sure I will be fine...I'll just immerse myself in shooting the other things I love....the things I have not had a chance to shoot since March 10th...landscapes, night scenes, etc... In his absence I will go through the 1,000's of RAW files I have passed over since he was born...I will find some shots to fill in while he is gone. I'll miss him...and her too ;) I just need to make sure that he leaves a Dodger fan and does not return a Yankee fan....somehow I think that notion is fruitless considering he will be in the company of the most diehard Yankee fans...

Still going through the photos from Saturday evenings photowalk...I have not gone through them all...just a quick glance and worked on a few. Tonight I saw this shot and decided to work on it. I LOVE this shot...it really "captures the moment" of the photowalk. Here I am on a late Saturday afternoon which fell into a late Saturday evening with 30 other photo enthusiats shooting my favorite subject. Does not matter what your experience is behind the lens, or what camera you are shooting with...what matters is I am sharing with my favorite places with others who have the same passion for photography as I. We actually had a discussion over refreshments after the shoot about knowledge transfer...sharing what you know...the Santa Monica pier is no hidden secret...it is the crown jewel of Danta Monica. The pier is easy to capture at sunset...and I love to capture it. Why would I not transfer what I know to others? I know how to shoot the pier and sharing what I know made for a GREAT evening and I know I made friends on Saturday evening with whom I will shoot again...hopefully shooting something that is unfamiliar to me and learning something which I did not know prior to that shoot. I love photowalking!
