Development Officers with a black ribbon across their lips and placards in hand staged a protest at Yogakshema against the immatured behaviour of the Management against its own employees and the unethical manner in which ULIP's were being promoted in LIC. A section of the Development Officers stood within Yogakshema at both the entrances which another section sat on the stairs at the main entrance of the building. All Development Officers of Mumbai and Thane participated in the Dharna which was carried out simultaneously at Yogakshema and Jeevan Seva Building at Santacruz. A closer view of the placard will reveal messages like "SAVE LIC, PROTECT LIC", "STOP UNETHICAL SALE OF ULIPS", "AGENTS ARE OUR ASSETS, PROTECT OUR ASSETS".

A Dharna was staged at Yogakshema on 15 March 2008. Following a successful march to the Parliament by over 17000 Development Officers, a panicky LIC Management called for police protection even before the dharna would begin. Over 50 policemen were deployed at the gates but the Development Officers were undeterred and decided to continue the dharma irrespective of what would follow next. However, the Mumbai Police gave us a sympathetic support and the rally took place in a peaceful manner.

NFIFWI which is the only union of the 21000 strong Development Officer force of LIC staged a protest rally against the manner in which the LIC management is facing the competition in the market. It has a committed force of development officers who have tremendous faith in their organisation called National Federation of Insurance Field Workers Of India. In times of adversity, the NFIFWI members are known to be fiercely protective about NFIFWI and collective in their efforts to save their cadre. The All India Secretary, Shri Jaypraksh gave a call for Chalo Parliament on 5th March and an army about 17000 Development Officers landed in New Delhi to participate in the agitational program. New Delhi hotels, roads, taxis, railway stations were choked with Development Officers, it was a sight which made every Development Officer proud of their cadre and the brotherhood in their cadre. Now the Leader has given a call of Chalo Yogakshema on 31st March. A nervous LIC Management is trying all methods to diffuse the rally and for that they have appealed to civic authorities and beauracrats to deny permission for such a rally. The local police authorities are not granting the permission to hold a peace rally at LIC headquarters, but the 21000 development officers are unfazed, they will march to Yogakshema at any cost because they want a final solution for all the problems that have cropped up in the last 3 years and the solution can be found only at Yogakshema.
