We have a new member of the family. His name is Levi and he's a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. He's the most mellow dog I've ever known. And very cute, too!

Saturday, I did a little loop, driving the long way to Russel and taking the car ferry back. The road to Russel was actually closed, so I had to take the detour, a dirt road through some very pretty countryside.

I am renting a room in this house from a nice very Kiwi family. It's quite secluded, with lovely orchards and surprising things like a 30 foot tall cactus!

I stumbled upon the Kerikeri Farmers Market on Sunday morning. There was a lovely assortment of foods for sale, including the biggest avacados and eggplants I've ever seen, fresh garlic, homemade breads, etc.

I took a day and drove to the northernmost tip of New Zealand. It was neato to see where the Tasman Sea meets the South Pacific.
