Walk or take public transportation whenever possible. Letting your car idle is actually bad for it and, overtime, reduces fuel efficiency, causes power loss, and shortens engine life. Your vehicle and its fluids are designed for start-and-go driving. It takes less gasoline to restart your car than it does to let it idle for more than a minute.
