Henriette and Asir. Asir had worked for us in Ed Dom and had come to work with the Peruvians after we had had to move. One thing you quickly realise is the (good) impact teams of archaeologists can have when working in such a remote area. Trips to the hospital in Merowe were fairly regular as the Landrover could get there quicker than waiting for the next passing Toyota pickup.
