Did a photo shoot today in the "Studio". Some shots for Sarah's portfolio. Hopefully I'll be able to post some of the shoot's photographs in the future! Whats with the thigh area of these jeans though, I look like I am wearing puffy pants or something! Last time I wear these, I think :)

We got our first morning delivery of milk today - glass bottle, foil top and all! Does this mean we are proper British now?

On the weekend we bought a new set of linen, our first linen purchase in about 5 years (the old sheets were literally falling apart) We decided to go all out and bought a set of Dorma sheets with a thread count of 250. These sheets feel soooo luxurious against your skin that I look forward to slipping into bed in the evening and don't want to get out of bed in the morning. Oh - I'm going to post this to the week seven stripe challenge too :)

Impromptu shot. Colleague held his tie out in the lift. Illuminated walls of the lift provided the backlight. This shot was horribly under exposed because of the impromtu-ness of the shot and me not accounting for the backlight (lift rides are far too short). Thank god for RAW.

Strobist: EX150 head hard lit to the right of picture at about 30deg 1 ft above head level @ 1/8 power. Fired by pc sync cord. I set up a "mini studio" in the second bedroom today and played around with the flash heads in various configurations. There's a lot of learning to do here. Setup took about 15 mins, teardown took about 15 mins. Used myself as a subject (fired the camera via infrared controller). I need to seriously get back to the gym to get rid of my triple chins - shamefull!! I have also learned I am one of the least photographic people on the planet, at least when I haven't had a shave for a week.

If this is the kind of result I can get from the studio lighting kit after 10 rushed minutes with it set up in the cluttered living room then I am hopeful for the results I can get after a lot of practice and proper setup. Thanks to my lovely Sarah who kindly agreed to be my test mule despite being busy with lots of her own stuff to do. :) Note that there was a mirror over the right shoulder that I cloned out hence why her right shoulder has had a blur placed over it!

This my photograph for the Project365 group's Week 7 challenge. The challenge this week was "Stripes". I have been lucky as I got a delivery of film today for my new Holga Lomo cam (which is yet to arrive), so this photograph captures that which I am looking forward to the most, taking pictures with the Holga!! The film here is 120 medium format Kodak Portra 400NC and Kodak Portra 400VC. I also got some Fuji Neopan 400CN, but that is no where near as photographic has the Kodak. I figure I have 3 sets of stripes in this photograph. 1. The film stripes of magenta/blue. 2. The yellow stripes of the film label going perpendicular to the film. 3. The "stripes" made by the stiching of the cloth on the table.
