Cone Flower

I love them, and I don't know why. I see them everywhere, yet can't NOT take a picture. These were at Trader's Point Creamery near Indianapolis. I was there to shoot cows and chickens (fun to type) and shot cone flowers! The very next fargin' day, I was at the garden center purchasing this same color for our yard.

She Was Special

Our eyes met, and I knew she was the one. *Not the Golden Gate Bridge, but hey. Ya go with the local specialty, and around these here parts, it's farm animals.

Ducks on a Pond

Multi-tasking as all parents must do. I was walking through Eagle Creek with my friend. We took a break at Lily Pond, where I snapped a few photos to justify lugging 50 pounds on my back for six miles.

The Kids

Our new house in the country. Jack is six. Pickles is three. She's the future president. That'll be about the time he's landing his rocket on Pluto.

Orange and Brown is King

This bird had a feather complex. He seemed to be a leader amidst the flock of lorikeets at the Indianapolis Zoo, but he wasn't very nice about it.

Social Dynamics of Lorikeets

Wonderful place to shoot with the 50mm. Part of the challenge is not getting pooped on. Don't think I'm kidding.

Our Pet Hawk

Grandma Kiss

Pickles and her Grandma (my mother-in-law). Gave this to her for Mother's Day. She still thinks Tom took this picture. *sigh*

Why, Hello There

This is me for my avatar. I'm Ange, "Writer Mom," "Life in the Pumpkin Shell," writermotherwifeme.blogspot.com, etc. I'm here because I copy everything my brother does. He's always cutting edge, so it's convenient for me.

Our Pet Hawk

First photo on Zooomr. The story behind this hawk is that I've been making attempts for over a month to get a clear shot of her. She swoops our back pasture for rodents and gets chased by the smaller birds. My 300mm is always a little too short, or my hands are a wee too shaky. I wanted a VR for this, but told myself I MUST get a clear shot without the VR help before I'm allowed to have one. I find it fitting that I stalk this hawk using our bird poop covered fence posts as my monopod. I used to read Ranger Rick as a child. It comes through in my photography.
