The wharf today is host to visiting cruise ships. The warehouses that used to lie on this wharf were converted to the Auckland Hilton and a residential block. This generation of Aucklanders will know the Viaduct harbour as a place of bars and restaurants and weekend nightlife. Although some may claim it's a bit of a meat market of a different sort.
