This photograph © "Lctrc-Gtr-Dde" 2007 The Deira clock-tower was designed in the 60s by an Australian Architect. Back then it was one of the few structures that could be seen in the area. The cops don't like it for all the traffic it creates. It's neighbour the flame roundabout was demolished and a replica of the flame monument built elsewhere. This may be the fate of this historic structure. It remains my favourite piece of Dubai architecture. Burj Dubai's got nothing on this.
