Stormy day for a protest

Police form a barrier between the protesters and the expected motorcade carrying the US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.

As you can probably tell the weather was wet. It was very wet and photographing was a challenge. It was also very windy, with gusts of wind frequently threatening to blow me off my feet.

Before the US Secretary of State left the Langham hotel police officers marched out to form a line in front of the protesters. Their marching was mocked by the protesters.

Chants of "Shame! Shame!" were directed at the police for siding with a foreign "war criminal" (as the protesters would describe her) and against New Zealanders.
