The William C. Daldy. This steam powered tug boat converted for passenger cruises is best known for saving the Auckland Harbour Bridge. During construction of the winds gale force winds threatened to blow the centre section of the bridge off the construction barge. This tug was called in and for 36 hours non stop this tug battled against the winds to keep the section under control. If you like my photography, please give me cred! |
