Somehow, I felt like the dog waiting by the door.
I felt like I was locked into the career that would own me for life -- Always wanting to peak in for a look or two and having it yank me back into what became 'life as usual.'
And, I also wanted her more than ever. But it always felt like I could only catch glimpses through the plexiglas walls my profession had developed around me.
Would it ever mean anything? Or, perhaps she would always see me as Kristopher the CTO & Founder and not as my warmer more personal self who tried to describe unwittingly the aforementioned.
She came outside and asked me what I was up to. Me replying "Nothing," even-though I had been writing out this very thought. It took only moments until I had taken in the full breadth of what I had just uttered -- "Nothing... I'm up to nothing' at all." I knew there and then that I'd definitely developed feelings for her and I was pretty sure to my immediate dismay that 'nothing' would, in fact, actually happen.
