* The scientific name 'oedipus,' means 'swollen footed,' and refers to their long claws.

* Both hands and feet are equipped with sharp claws for gripping onto trees.

* Primates have grasping hands, and often times feet, which are very useful in movement and gaining easier access to a variety of foods.
