Remember the "squiiky" that I photographed in December? Well, I found that squishy and spiky delight has shriveled into this, probably due to the fact that it's summer and hot. This doesn't resemble fruit or flower at all now, but those black things are the squiiky's seeds. I'm glad I went over to check on this when I did. Who knows- it might not have been there if I had waited a few more days.

Spring is definitely here to stay. Today was very warm and just beautiful. My siblings have been playing out in the backyard all afternoon and evening. I decided to get some fresh air. That’s when I saw this group of dandelions and just had to get some shots of them before they blow away. This year is “blowing away” too- so quickly.

Chasy cannot stand it that people and other dogs pass by so close to our house. He stands guard at this window constantly, ready to defend us from any danger! Hehe he's so funny...

I was sitting, just relaxing, when I glanced out the window and saw this bunch of ivy on our backyard wall that was changing color. I felt that I had to get up right away and take a picture. Come winter, all the ivy will all be a dark reddish-brown. I may never see these colors on this ivy again-- I won't be here this time next year because things will have changed again. I love and welcome change. I love and welcome autumn. The heart-shaped ivy is changing colors in patches on our wall; my heart is glad.

Joshua and Sofia found this strange, green, fork-tailed, caterpillar-like thing outside this afternoon. The whole family crowded around to observe and admire what a cool little creeper it was. We don't know what it is, really. It obviously looks like some sort of caterpillar, but we certainly don't know which species. If anyone out there has an idea, we'd appreciate the knowledge. It sure was an interesting bug-- I've never seen anything like it before. This photo almost does it justice.
