"Sergeant Christopher L. McCabe fires his rifle during monthly range training here May 15."
Being created by the U.S. federal government, the original is public domain, so I did a little editing. I've been looking through some of Banksy's work, and figured I'd play around a bit.
I found the original and part of this caption from https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/File:US_Marine_M16A4_Rifle_ACOG.jpg
Final Note: Although I'm releasing this under my normal BY-NC license, please don't use this to hate on any armed forces, the marines in particular. Thanks.

Shiny lights and dark nights on the highway at the end of a long day are the best when I want to rest.

Kneepad |
This is a piece of the top of my helmet that came off in the crash. My parents brought it to Burke to show me some of the damage because I wanted to see. This covered some of the vents on the helmet.
Interesting notes: There's grass on the bottom of this - the part that was originally bolted to the helmet, and one of the nurses at Burke started looking at it, and when I told her what it was, she was shocked.

This is my bike after the accident. Please note that I didn't take this picture - it was taken by my insurance agent. The bike was totaled. I had so much fun riding that thing. I have some more shots of it, but they're all taken on this side, and they just show closer detail of the fender, missing mirror, handle bar, and missing turn signal, so I won't bother posting them here. My father says the screen on top of the front is cracked too, but you can't see that in any of the pics.

There's a dent in my right kneepad in the circle too. I'm glad I had these on, they saved me some injury. I actually had no external injuries from the accident because I was wearing a jacket, gloves, helmet, and these kneepads. I was always worried I wasn't wearing enough equipment, either, because my pants were normal pants and my jacket wasn't zipped down to anything (pants-wise).
The gear did save my life, though. I see so many people riding motorcycles without gear... don't do that. It's very irresponsible and stupid. Don't drive like a moron, either. I went my first couple weeks without these kneepads and was very happy when I got them. The gear is in case of an accident. You hope not to need it, but it's definitely good to have just in case, believe me.

Broken Helmet |
Metal Diamonds |
Lincoln |
I was in a motorcycle accident last month, and just started to remember things a few weeks ago. I don't remember the accident, but I apparently almost killed myself. I've got broken ribs and had surgery on my spine and shoulder blades. I'm recovering now though.
One of my best friends says I have a second chance at life, and that's how I see it. I want to get back into photography eventually, as I've been mostly out of it for quite a while now, but I'm still pretty immobile so that may take a little while.
Good news about that though: My main camera was in my backpack when I went down, and it survived just fine, even though the clipboard it was in front of was broken up a little. I feel lucky about that, although I wouldn't be surprised if it caused some of my spinal injuries =/

Graveyard |
This is the north side of the White House, home to the President of the United States of America. I visited with my family prior to a wedding (Congratulations Lauren and Francesco). More coming as I get to them. For you photographer/editor people, this is actually four shots combined into one - The sky, left side, right side, and flag were all shot separately.

The first bolt of lightning I've captured. I hastily set up shooting through a window (you can see the screen) and some power lines.

Through the same window as my first, I though the storm was over, and told myself this was the last frame. As I finished that thought, this is what I captured. I stayed a bit longer, but these were originally so dark I knew I couldn't capture any more.

This is a neighbor's cat. He spends lots of time in my yard, but never seems to know what to make of me. I'll befriend him some day.
