Hmm I think this was filled with the actual gasoline. It seems these are gallon marks. There was a large lever/pump at the bottom and it seems one pumped a quantity of gas into the tank (maybe) then let it out into the car. Interesting. Have to research I guess.
Regarding current prices, I rarely drive at all and would not mind it going to $100 per gallon or even more. Get some of these SUVs off the road.
Thanks Yanz and yes, I also remember when it was $1, and the funny thing is, then cars were much smaller. People are nuts these days. Soon there will be no gas and they will all have to get off their butts and ride their bikes eah :)
