I've finally learned how to properly scan thin negatives, so I thought I'd go back and try again.

This is a 100% crop from the only image out of probably 100 that wasn't motion blurred. Freaked out ants move really fast! And when they sense danger, they pick up their larvae and run!
Not the best quality, but quite interesting nonetheless.

A Contrast in Movement |
Taken near Burney Falls in Northern California. This is diatomaceous earth, made from the skeletons of tiny animals a long time ago. In other words, it's chalk. My feet got covered with this stuff. I found a huge chunk which now sits prominently on a shelf in my room.

My dad's in this photo. Don't see him? That's because this is a stack of 12 frames and he got averaged out. If you could see him, he'd be out past the two big rocks in a wetsuit. He and a friend went abalone diving and I was on shore getting this shot.

If you look closely, you can see my mom in another canoe straight ahead of me. She hates getting her picture taken, so I, being a sneaky bastard, snuck this one in.
