A Yellow Rose
This one took some effort. I spent about an hour setting up the lighting and getting the adjustments correct, then decided it had to be at f/45 with a deep green filter. This, coupled with a bellows extension factor and film reciprocity, required an exposure of 30 minutes! Crap! I had to make sure nothing in my house moved.

Now that is dedication, and well worth the effort.

Fantastic. Did you lock the kitties in a room? My poor kids get annoyed when I decide to do macro in the house because they get the stink eye when they walk through the room and bounce my subject around. 30 minutes!

Luckily my cat was asleep. I had to keep an eye on her though. I just had to sit quietly at my computer and move very slowly.

Why would you need the exposure to last 30 minutes? 30 seconds I might understand..

I had to account for the aperture, the filter, bellows extension and reciprocity. Things add up, and since exposure is based on a logarithmic scale, things really add up.

Yes.. I suppose so... but that's still a LONG exposure. What kind of lighting did you use?

An incandescent desk lamp diffused through a napkin. Yes, I'm resourceful.

Huh. So that explains it. A napkin. Never, in a million years would I have guessed.
