Wildfires are generally detrimental to the environment, but some species, like the Jack Pine and the landscape photographer, benefit when a wildfire burns through an ecosystem. The landscape photographer emerges from the ground after a fire passes overhead and proceeds to photograph the strikingly beautiful sunset that occurs due to the smoke and haze. However, the landscape photographer who photographed this sunset was disappointed. The smoke was so thick that the sun simply disappeared before even getting close to the horizon. The photographer soon dug another burrow to hibernate and await the coming of the next wildfire.
