Oh, I don't remember what it was exactly, but judging by the movement of the celestial bodies in this photo I'd say maybe 5-7 minutes.

I prefer to use smaller apertures, such as f/8 or f/11. It gives great depth of field and allows for a margin of error when focusing at night is difficult. The only downside (or upside) is the length of time needed for a correct exposure.
