This rocket used to be the play structure at Todd Grove Park. I don't know when they closed it off, probably 15 years ago, but at least they left it standing. If anyone was a kid in the 70's and 80's in Ukiah, you probably played in this rocket. There used to be a slide on the opposite side, but that was taken off when they closed it up. I guess it was unsafe. There is a new play area to the left of the rocket (you can see the end of the swings) with a fabulous multilevel structure and a bunch of slides. My kids loved it. And at least they could imagine where used to play. You can see the new structure in the swings shot.
