This squirrel made it easy to get this shot. We were on the beach of Elk Lake with lots of squirrels running around, including juveniles (my kids thought they were incredibly cute). Some kind of bird flew over and they all panicked and ran for cover. This one stayed out in the open on a log making a chirping noise, obviously warning the others and standing guard over the young ones.
She stood there for a long time, which gave me a chance to switch to my 70-300 lens and slowly inch my way closer. She was more concerned about getting eaten by a hawk than about me taking pictures.
