Flowers in the river pond at the Linneaus gardens Uppsala, Sweden.
2007 is the tricentenary of the birth of Carl Linneaus, the botanist, zoologist, biologist. Linneaus developed the classification and naming species we have of plants and animals we have to day. So every time you see or read a latin name of a plant you are relying on the work of this man 250 plus years ago.
The gardens he worked in and developed have been preserved in Uppsala
