taken behind the events at the Opening of the 3rd session the Scotish Parliament. For all the critism of the Parliament building I have seen no comment about the planting in the public areas around the building. Full of natural grasses and flowers and designed to create natural seating it is a superb layout.
The Grass on the roof also serves as an excellent vantage point for Police and military security. Follow the portal to see what I mean.

Those flowering heads look suspiciously like potentially viable explosive devices! Nice shot. I find it quite calming.
