Actually the Dutch language preserves quite a lot of the Middle English vocabulary. Schip (ship) is one. Cf: Scip (Old English), Schip (Middle English and Dutch).

This Dutch national museum of ceramics in Leeuwarden is regarded as one of the best in the world. The pink posters at the entrance are for the current exhibition "Scherven en Geluk" (till 1-Nov-2009) with a focus on the wedding china during the past century.
