"Run your own race, if you don't you'll end up living somone else's life" - Robin Sharma. I had a conversation throught flickr mail recently, with one of my contacts (an excellent photographer), and he mention that he was experimanting in composit shots in CS4. I had thought of doing that a few times over the last few years, but only seriously tried it today. This photo here, is a composite of three separate shots, the sky, the moon and the sea (which is actually a picture of a German Lake). I processed a pic of the sky, and flipped it vertically., Then, after gaussian blur on the main image, I added the moon, which is a pic I took on 1 DEC 2008. I used the dodge tool to brighten the moon. The "star " to the right of the moon is actually Venus, so I did a clone of this, multipole times, at various opacity, to get some stars. I then brought in a pic of the sea (which like I said is a lake really), used screen blend and lowered the opacity to the desired effect. I the smudged the sea and doged at 100% to give the faint reflection of the moon. The last few effect, like the slight vignette, was added in Lightroom.

Another digital composite. Quite an addictive passtime. This one took four days to complete.

Ice clouds that occur as long, relatively straight or slightly curved streamers, which neither originate in tufts of cloud, nor show distinct hooks.
