This came out better than I expected. It's a new variation on an old theme: the star jump. It was taken at the top of Ben Vrackie, near Pitlochry in Scotland. Please vote for this photo in the "Gravity Powered" theme at JPG Magazine, due for issue 13.

This was taken one night in October, 2005. I had to rush back to the flat to get my camera because the sky was so amazing. Taken on a Nikon F80, using FujiChrome film. No filters used, though a touch of contrast was added, and the image has been cropped slightly.

This place is awesome! I advise going earlier in the morning, before the tours descend, circa 10 am. However, at that time, the sun was only just getting over the rather large mountains.
