Boca do Río es de las últimas playas antes de llegar a Lagos (creo que la última, de hecho) y por tanto está casi en el límite del parque natural.
Unos cuantos kilómetros más al este las urbanizaciones y la demás parafernalia urbanística aprovechan el fin del Parque natural do Sudoeste Alentejano e a Costa Vicentina para campar a sus anchas.
