Yes. And it was absolutely intentional, and not at all an accident because I held the camera over my head and clicked the shutter hoping against hope I actually got something. ;) Thanks, Keith.
Results are what counts, and I have to agree with Wolfman-K -- striking, but only, IMO, because of the bokeh (had to look that up). Really nice pic, with EXIF camera settings I would *never* have expected given the outcome. I'd love to hear more on why.
I'm guessing there was bright light behind/above you and reflecting from water below, but beyond that, I haven't a clue!
(As an aside: thanks for publishing with the EXIF -- I find this info enormously helpful and wish more folks did this too).
Thanks. As for not expecting the results, it's probably because I used a (cheap) macro diopter on an 18-50mm lens. I can't afford a true macro lens. I must have caught a light flare, or some dust... something which caused the nifty bokeh dots in the middle.
Seriously tho I keep returning to this image, it's very cool. I wish I could fave it twice.
Some of my best photos are "accidental," it shouldn't detract from their beauty at all. You have to remember that it took some effort on your part to even try for the shot. :)
