Geese in a Park |
Yellow Dragonfly in a Field |
|
Geese in Berlin Park, one of the Camden County Parks. Apparently this tree is a crowd favorite with these birds as this small gaggle of geese guarded it to keep people away. Reason why is unknown as no one spotted any nests nearby.
Carol Wells has other photographs, taken at Berlin Park, such as a squirrel sleeping in a tree and mating damsels. She also has other Photographs of Animals you may enjoy viewing.

Christ Church Burial Grounds opened to the public, for visiting, in 2007 to help raise funds for maintainence and restoration efforts. Although many past patriots, and other individuals with some claim to fame, now reside within its walls the most famous may be the resting place of Benjamin Franklin and his wife. Christ Church is still active and one of the oldest churches in Philadelphia. Members of its congregation, from Carol's understanding, may still opt to be buried in this cemetery, or burial grounds although, from Carol's observation, that seems to be a rarity these days. Part of the outside wall near the main entrance to Christ Church Burial Grounds. On the other side of this section of wrought iron fence is Benjamin Franklin's gravesite. Philly lore is that a person will have good luck if they toss a penny onto his gravesite - so there is always pennies, and other coins, on his grave.

In memory of
THOMAS W. FRANCIS
who departed this life on the ?2nd of June 1815
in the 48th year of his age. lamented in his death as
he had been beloved throughout his life.
Victorian Era produced some of the more striking grave markers found in cemeteries. This is one of two in Christ Church Burial Grounds that shared an Egyptian or Pyramid theme. Preservation of this stone is visible with an attempt to seal a large crack that runs through part of the inscription.

Replacement Headstone in Christ Church Burial Grounds |
Christ Church Burial Grounds View |
Sinking |
Replacement headstone, for 3 generations of Wheeler males in Christ Church Burial Grounds, that likely is true, in shape and form, to the original. Although the replacement was put into place in the mid-1980s, by family descendants, the headstone is already showing effects of exposure to the elements.

Not certain but these may be matching sets: headstones and foot stones. The smaller ones, which would be the footstones, are similar in style to the larger ones.
