Kauffman's Clock |
Partial view of the back wall inside one of the (reconstructed) buildings the soldiers used while camping at Valley Forge during the American Revolutionary War. It also shows part of 2 sleeping pallet areas - two others are directly across on each side of the doorway; so each building could sleep up to 12 men.

Kauffman's clock is sort of a landmark, and-or convenient meeting location, in downtown Pittsburgh. Although Kauffman's ceased to be a few years back, and its former downtown store is a Macy's, Pittsburghers still use the older name for this clock ... so now you know if someone says to meet them at the Kauffman's clock then you want to find the Macy's storefront.
Story behind the image: Borrowed a camera to take some area photographs. The person had the images' settings for the lowest resolution/quality - 400 x 600 300+kb files. Ugh! Played with the photos in Paint Shop Pro to see what could be done with the once small-suitable-for-email-sharing images.

Alvin's metal and neon store sign in downtown Pittsburgh. The clock is broken so reads, on this side, as 12:25 - kinda similar to the Berlin Diner, in NJ, that always proclaimed it to being around 2:10ish.

Story behind the image: Borrowed a camera to take some area photographs. The person had set the images to be saved at the lowest resolution/quality (600 x 400 300+kb files). So played with the image files, in Paint Shop Pro, to see what could be done with the once suitable-for-email-sharing "photos".

Rain Pouring Down the Street |
Rain Pouring Down the Street |
Rain Drops |
View of the rain water as it poured down the brick road, in front of our place, while more rain pelted the street. As a sidenote, about taking photos in inclement weather conditions, going outside during a rain storm to take a photograph of the street risks getting odd looks from occupants of cars passing by at the time.
