During a prison break/riot in the 1940s, the Marines were called in. They shelled the island and eventually gained access to the cell block. These pock marks are from hand grenades they dropped from the roof.

A painting by an inmate along with period magazines (ca. 1960, just before the prison closed). PM asks, "Are We Licking Our Missile Fizzle?" I ask, "Who wrote their article titles, Snoop Dogg?"
